Winter at Midnight

Yup – another by me

The winter closes in upon my soul
Ice gathering around my heart
Glittering, shining, beguiling
Deadly beauty

Crystalline figures gather around
In wondrous, fine array
Sparkling, twinkling, entrancing
Deadly beauty

Winter cold flails in upon my soul
Icy gales ripping at my heart
Loudly, violently, numbingly
Deadly beauty

Midnight moon shines upon the snow
In white cloaked mystery
Quietly, mystically, enchantingly
Deadly beauty

Shadows flickering across the snow
Ereshkigal walking the night
Quietly judging, calling
Deadly beauty

In purple, black and silver shrouded
My lady walks the plains of my heart
Soulfully, quietly, truthfully
Deadly beauty

My wings drape the winter soul
My fur encloses the icy heart
Watching, waiting, wanting
Deadly beauty
